Inauguration of the “Restoration and Improvement of building facades at Piale Pasha Street”

On Friday, April 5, we attended the inauguration of the projects “Restoration and Improvement of the facades of the buildings of Piale Pasha Street” and the “Mediterranean” Artists’ Park in Larnaca, which were carried out by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis.

The two projects mark a new era for the city of Larnaca, as they contribute significantly to the aesthetic improvement and the built environment of the area, highlighting its significant historical and cultural value, and improving the quality of life of residents and visitors.

It is an honour as a company to be part of such an impactful project for our community, as the initiator of the restoration of Piale Pasha street is none other than Mr. Michalis Efstathiou of Studio Bagno Group.

In February 2022, while actively working on the project, alongside the supervising associates, Mr. Efstathiou provided an interview to Andreas Polykarpou for the Larnaka Online media outlet, talking about the inspiration, the benefits and the future of the project.

“How can I contribute to the development of our city? This is what I would often ask myself. Not only because I was born here and I love the city, but I also see the potential Larnaca has. In August 2019, I had the answer to my question.”

“As we had mentioned to the Mayor in our presentation, on the one hand there was the willingness to somehow contribute, as I mentioned above, and, on the other hand, the fast and steady development, that I observed, taking place in our city… that really inspired me and motivated me even more in expressing my idea.”

On the artistic curation of the facades, in another article regarding the meeting of the Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras with Michalis Efstathiou in July 2022, it is mentioned:

“The selection of the specific color tones for the buildings’ facades was made by a group of artists consisting of Evro Evryviadis, Kyriakos Tsaggaridis, Spyros Agathou, Iosif Chatzikyriakos with the personal contribution of Mr. Michalis Efstathiou and Mr. Stefanos Thompson. The colors were chosen according to historical evidence taken from records, paintings and past engravings.”
